I am Ellen Pabst. I was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where I have graduated in Architecture and Town Planning. While in University, in order to to fulfill my interest in Art, I attended supplementary courses in Adobe Photoshop, Graphic Design, Drawing, Watercolor and History of Art.
My life changed completely in 2010, when I moved out of Brazil. Since then I have been living in a few different countries, experiencing new cultures and meeting a lot of interesting people. Because of this, I started developing my passion for photography.
Back then I was a self taught photographer learning with my mistakes and improving my skills through constant practice. After moving to the USA in 2013, I joined the Houston Camera Club and then enrolled in the Complete Course in Professional Photography at The New York Institute of Photography.
Currently I manage and develop content for my own photography website – in Portuguese language – where I teach people photography techniques and provide others with inspirational articles and blog posts. I’ve been working in this growing project since 2013.
I love photographing people. I think candid shots are much better than the posed ones as they show real and spontaneous emotions. I also love natural light, just because it’s more… natural 🙂
Currently I’m living in Houston, Texas.
